Women’s Ministry
UMW Group Meets Monthly for mission and quarterly event
planning with a fresh devotion focus each month. Contact

Young Adults Ministry
Marriage Ministry – “Christ-Centered
Couples”
Hosts Christian Learning Time Classes Sept-May in the Chapel
each Sunday 9:45-10:30
Quarterly events/date nights/ workshops. These events are
open to couples of all ages and stages, dating on up.
Marriage Mentoring – 4-6 Sessions with a trained mentor
couple for those getting married in the church and/or for
couples in crisis. This is a great ministry to take advantage
of even if you simply wish to grow closer together, with
God. Our mentors would love to share their own real-life
adventures and how God’s presence in their relationship
has helped them draw closer to one another. Contact Marcy

Men’s Ministry
Monthly breakfasts 2nd Saturday of each month at 8:30 at
the church
Christian Learning Time Class each Sunday 9:45 – 10:30 am
Occasional Events
Classics
Potluck – Informal gathering open to all adults 50 plus
in years and wisdom the 2nd Thursday of each month in the
Garden Café at Oakwood.
Family
Seasonal Classes Offered
Parent Support Group – for children with special needs,
ADHD, or Autism. Meets the 1st Tuesday of every month at
6:30 at Oakwood.
Spiritual Growth
Disciple Bible Study – An intense 34 week study that takes
you from Genesis to Revelations with a small group of fellow
seekers. Meets once weekly Sept-May
Wednesday Evening Bible Study – Offered immediately following
Wednesday Worship
Sunday Morning CLT Classes – Offered for all ages and stages
in various classes Sept – May
Spiritual Gifts Workshops – Designed to help you discover
the ways God has gifted you to serve. Let Marcy know if
you wish to explore this before our next scheduled workshop
this fall.
Small Groups
BLJ – Business, Lunch and Jesus – This is an open group
that meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday s of every month at
various Des Moines area restaurants from 11:30-12:30 to
talk about what the Bible has to say about a wide variety
of topics. Check this month’s calendar for locations and
join anytime!
Sarah’s Circles – Small group study and discussion for women
of all ages. Meeting at various times and locations with
need-based studies. See Marcy for more details.
Purpose Driven Life Groups – Designed for each and every
friend of Oakwood to be a part of this fall. Watch for more
details on getting connected in your small group!
Recreational Ministries
Sports Leagues – Softball, Bowling and Basketball leagues
for recreation offered throughout the year. Watch for sign-ups
with each season. See Tim for details.
Women’s Exercise Group – Meeting Monday - Friday at 5:15
for exercise, faith and fellowship. See this month’s newsletter
